  • WCTV is teaming up with Tallahassee independent bookstore, Midtown Reader, for their inaugural "Let's Read" initiative.

The Midtown Reader and WCTV have partnered to launch a fundraiser aimed at providing books to Title I students in Leon County, Florida. This initiative, which runs from November 1 to November 15, 2023, seeks to raise $10,000 to purchase books for students in schools where at least 40% of the student body qualifies for free or reduced lunch. The campaign not only aims to enhance literacy but also to foster a love for reading among children. Donors contributing $100 or more will receive a special edition book, "The ABCs of Midtown," featuring local businesses and landmarks. The fundraiser underscores the community's commitment to education and literacy, with all donations directly supporting the purchase of books for these students.
