This incident not only extended their stay but also set a new record for the longest single spaceflight by an American astronaut for Rubio. The trio has been involved in numerous scientific experiments, maintenance tasks, and spacewalks during their time in space. Their return is now scheduled for September 27, 2023, aboard the Soyuz MS-23, marking the end of an unexpectedly prolonged mission.
