  • Tragedy struck the students of Lagos State University of Science and Technology on Saturday when a newly admitted colleague, Emmanuel Nweke, fell from a two-storey building in the Ikorodu area of the state.

A student from Lagos State University (LASU) tragically passed away after falling from the third floor of a hostel building. The incident occurred at the Ojo campus, and the student, identified as a 200-level Sociology student, reportedly fell while trying to jump from one balcony to another. The university's Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olaniyi Jeariogbe, confirmed the event, noting that the student was immediately taken to the university's health center and later to LASUTH, where he was pronounced dead. The university has expressed condolences to the family and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall.
