Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, emphasized the importance of health in achieving a developed India, stating that "Viksit Bharat is possible only in Swasth Bharat." Speaking at the 6th Foundation Day of the National Institute of Biologicals (NIB) in Noida, he highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing healthcare through initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, which provides free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh for the underprivileged. He also discussed the significant advancements in vaccine production, noting India's role in supplying vaccines globally during the Covid-19 crisis. Dr. Singh praised the NIB for its role in ensuring the quality of biological products and mentioned the establishment of a new campus in Bhubaneswar to expand its reach. He stressed the need for self-reliance in healthcare, particularly in vaccine production, to prevent future health crises and underscored the importance of quality control in biologicals to ensure public health safety.
