It will be offered to Kapsch's telecommunications customers as part of their Evolved Packet Core solutions.

PT and Kapsch have an existing partnership agreement, whereby Kapsch CarrierCom supplies the PT SEGway Signalling products (STPs and Signalling Gateways) to Telecommunication Operators, as well as customers in the railway communications segment as part of their GSM-R Mobile Network Solution. By extending the relationship to include the SEGway UDR signalling solution for the mobile arena, Kapsch CarrierCom demonstrates a high level of confidence in PT's technology and support.

[ Diameter Protocol ] is the signalling method used by multiple elements in emerging IMS and LTE networks for traffic management, authentication and accounting. PT's SEGway UDR enables complex architectures comprised of session controllers, gateways, policy servers and charging systems to be intelligently and reliably interconnected, efficiently supporting the tremendous volume of network information being exchanged. The Universal Diameter Router, with its IP-native, built-for-purpose platform provides scalable high performance through powerful multi-core processors.
