NIAP Designates Common Criteria Certification for SolarWinds IT Management Products

Several SolarWinds Products Received Common Criteria Certification, Allowing Federal Organizations and Military IT Departments to Implement the Products in Their Networks Safely and Securely

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - Aug 14, 2012) -   [ SolarWinds ]® (NYSE: [ SWI ]), a leading provider of powerful and affordable [ IT management software ], announced today that National Information Assurance Partnership ([ NIAP ]) has designated the SolarWinds Orion suite of IT management products as certified in the Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS), an international standard for computer security achieved by national laboratory testing and evaluation.

Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation

Common Criteria is an internationally recognized standard that provides a broad range of evaluation criteria for commercial and nationally sensitive government-use IT security products. Federal IT users needing to run applications in National Security Systems (NSS) environments can now look to SolarWinds as a compliant software solution.

The Target of Evaluation (TOE), the products collectively listed below, provides security functionalities including identification and authentication, management, network monitoring, and configuration management all approved for use in Federal IT environments.

With the [ Common Criteria certification ], the following SolarWinds Orion software can be loaded and used on Federal networks:

CyngaCom Solutions, a Common Criteria Testing Laboratory (CCTL) accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Assessment Program (NVLAP) and approved by the NIAP, determined that the above products meet the security criteria for the certification. The CygnaCom SEL performs Common Criteria evaluations in accordance with the NIAP CCEVS.
