Symantec Prices $1.0 Billion Senior Unsecured Note Offering

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 11, 2012) - Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ: [ SYMC ]) today announced the pricing of two series of its senior unsecured notes in an aggregate principal amount of $1.0 billion, in an underwritten, registered public offering. Of these notes, $600 million will mature on June 15, 2017 and will bear interest at an annual rate of 2.75 percent, and $400 million will mature on June 15, 2022 and will bear interest at an annual rate of 3.95 percent. The offering is expected to close on June 14, 2012, subject to customary closing conditions.

Symantec intends to use the net proceeds of this offering, after deducting underwriting discounts and offering expenses, for general corporate purposes, which may include retirement or repayment of Symantec's 1.00% Convertible Senior Notes due June 15, 2013, of which $1.0 billion in principal amount was outstanding as of March 30, 2012.
