IGEN to Feature Instanet™ Portable Cellular Network at National Police Week in Washington, DC

Exclusive Event Includes IGEN's New Product, Instanet

WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 8, 2012) -[ IGEN Networks Corporation ] ("IGEN" or "the Company") (OTCBB:IGEN), the industry leading technology accelerator, today announced that it will premiere a live demonstration and sales of a self-contained portable cellular network, referred to as Instanet, at National Police Week from May 13 to 15, 2012 in Washington, DC.

Instanet was developed to provide a complete wireless communications network on demand where coverage is non-existent or disrupted. The product enables multiple users and multiple methods (i.e., voice, text message, broadband data, conference and group calls) and facilitates virtually all broadcast and communication requirements in the most challenging environments. Instanet is manufactured by Star Solutions International Inc., a world leader in all-IP wireless broadband infrastructure. The product is marketed by IGEN, a systems integrator of broadband solutions for rural communities, disaster and first-response services, and private enterprise networks.

National Police Week is one of the largest global events for police management and personnel. The event draws in between 25,000 to 40,000 attendees from police departments throughout the United States as well as agencies throughout the world.

"We are delighted to be one of the few vendors chosen to participate in this year's National Police Week," said Neil Chan, IGEN's Chief Executive Officer. "Instanet represents a disruptive accomplishment by combining the kind of core network and base station technology that would normally fill a semi-trailer into something you can carry in a backpack. The technology is designed to solve the unmet needs of the massive first responders' market by delivering a completely secure, weather-resistant, reliable mobile communications system that covers all emergency and field scenarios. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase this product to an audience that is squarely within our target market and global in scope."
