DRAPER, Utah--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:FLXT) [ http://www.flexpoint.com ] today discusses the current status on industrial sensors under development at Flexpoint. Initial production and delivery of the sensors is expected to take place during the fourth quarter of this year.

Clark Mower, President of Flexpoint stated, aWe have previously disclosed that we are working on a number of Industrial applications for our patented Bend Sensor® technology. Each of these sensors involves a unique sensor design in a specialty application. The unique applications for these sensors cause the development processes to be longer and involves several testing and redesign phases. Flexpoint is currently nearing completion of the process on at least three of these sensors and expect to begin initial production and delivery of the sensors during the fourth quarter of this year. These sensors will be sold to manufacturing and distribution companies. All of these products are sensors that were developed specifically at the request of our customers. They each have been developed under development agreements with these customers for a need that they have identified. The majority replace an existing product that has been unreliable.a

Mower continued, aIt is particularly exciting that we are at the end of this lengthy process. We expect that these initial production orders will lead to recurring sales and continuous increases in volumes on each of these sensors. We anticipate that additional orders and applications, both from related and other industries, will be generated as these products are announced and reach a higher level of acceptance We also expect that we will be able to announce the companies involved and expected volumes when the production orders are received during the next few months. We are currently in the final testing and certification phase of one sensor and have received approval to proceed with a second sensor in a different application for the same company. We have also shipped completed prototype sensors to another company for final testing in another application. Our company also has sent the likely final prototype for acceptance of a sensor in an industrial/medical application. Flexpoint has surpassed many milestones and benchmarks on the development of these industrial sensors and expects considerable revenues and customers from these applications over the next 3-6 months.a

About Flexpoint

Flexpoint Sensor Systems (FLXT) is a leading supplier of thin film sensing technology to many industries, including automotive, medical, industrial controls, and consumer products.

Flexpoint manufactures a patented new flexible sensor that has also proven to be an extremely durable switch. The single layer Bend Sensor product allows for the measurement of mechanical movement, air flow, water flow, or even vibration. In addition, it has been tested to over 35 million cycles without failure. It can be used as a range of motion sensor, or as a very durable, very reliable switch in most harsh environments. The breadth of applications for our sensor is limited only by one's imagination.
