WHITE PLAINS, NY--(Marketwire - June 22, 2010) - AboveNet, Inc. (NYSE: [ ABVT ]), a leading provider of high bandwidth connectivity solutions, announced that it has named Eric Nickla as Executive Director of Sales for the company's Central Region.

In his new position Nickla is responsible for all sales related revenue generation activities of AboveNet's Central Region, now expanded to include Chicago, Austin, Dallas and Houston. Reporting to Nickla will be three newly promoted sales managers.

Nickla joined AboveNet in 2006 and most recently served as Director of Sales for Chicago. A veteran sales executive with over 19 years of experience in telecommunications, Nickla previously held management positions with RCN, Level (3), MCI and MFS.
