HERNDON, VA--(Marketwire - November 25, 2009) - [ RCN Corporation ] (
The CPS Prep Bowl is this week's "Game of the Week." The annual game positions the CPS champion against the Catholic League champion. Now in its 76th year, the high-profile game will match up the Simeon Wolverines, whose last appearance was in 2003, with the St. Rita Mustangs, who hold five Prep Bowl titles.
WWME-TV will air the game live on Friday, November 27 at 11am from Soldier Field. As part of their broadcast, viewers will enjoy the RCN half-time segment -- a motivational interview with Jarrett Payton, son of the Hall-of-Famer Walter Payton.
RCN representatives will be at the game to offer attendees a chance to win a trip to Washington, D.C., complimentary hot chocolate and information about its services. The winner of the trip giveaway will be selected from a drawing and announced during the fourth quarter. They will receive airfare for two, a three night stay at The DuPont Hotel and tickets to the International Spy Museum and Mount Vernon.
Additionally, RCN is sponsoring the in-game segment, "Connection of the Game," as part of the agreement. RCN is also the exclusive sponsor of online streaming video clips showcasing CPS Sports' "Connection of the Week" program on [ www.metvchicago.com ], which allows fans to watch replays of key plays.
"This is the third year RCN has partnered with WWME-TV in support of CPS Sports programs," said Tom McKay, senior vice president and general manager of RCN Chicago. "We're pleased to sponsor programs that highlight the achievements and talents of Chicago Public School athletes and coaches. It's an important way in which we connect with the community."
WWME-TV, which is carried on RCN Channel 14, is one of the last locally owned, programmed and operated independent station groups in a major US market. For more information and to check listings, visit [ www.metvchicago.com ].
