ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwire - October 28, 2009) - TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: [ TSYS ]), a leading provider of mission-critical wireless communications, today announced that it has received an initial $2.2 million order from the U.S. Army. This award is funded by the Program Executive Office Aviation (PEO AVN) and relates to the continued supply of equipment to the UAS Project Office. The equipment includes Reconnaissance Surveillance and Target Acquisition (RSTA) Digital Data Link (DDL) Kits and Software Licenses.

This order was awarded by the Army Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (PM WIN-T) and through the U.S. Army's $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle.
