The VVX 1500 D is an affordable, easy-to-use personal video conferencing system that seamlessly integrates with existing H.323 video networks enabling managers and knowledge workers to make instant, one-touch point to point and multipoint video calls to all other video systems. In addition to H.323, the VVX 1500 D simultaneously supports the SIP signaling protocol. This enables integration with Polycom certified SIP-based UC platforms that provide advanced IP telephony capabilities. In environments that have a mix of H.323 and SIP, the VVX 1500 D will automatically select the appropriate protocol based on the capabilities and location of the destination device. As the number of VVX 1500 SIP certified platforms grows, enterprises will be able to take full advantage of all of the VVX 1500 D's capabilities including video conferencing, telephony and applications.

Enterprises can implement the VVX 1500 D with existing and new H.323-based video networks today while having the flexibility to integrate it with a SIP IP telephony call control system in the future. -- Business information at-a-glance - The Polycom VVX 1500 D business media phone features an open API and WebKit-based full browser that enable third-party developers to create applications that integrate the VVX 1500 D with business systems such as UC, customer relationship management (CRM), and other vertical business applications. The VVX 1500 D comes with a Web service called Polycom My Info Portal, through which customers can select to receive personalized Web content, such as stock prices, weather, and news. -- A SIP-based phone featuring Polycom HD Voice - The Polycom VVX 1500 D is equipped with all of the capabilities of a full featured SIP IP phone including: six lines, Polycom HD Voice technology, a Gigabit Ethernet switch that supports PoE, and a host of voice telephony functions. These features can be accessed via the buttons on the front of the phone or by simply touching the large color display.
