OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 21, 2009) - (TSX VENTURE:ENA) - Enablence Technologies Inc. ("Enablence"), a global leader in optical communications which provides systems, subsystems and components for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), metro and long haul markets, announced today that Setar N.V. Aruba ("Setar"), Aruba's national telecommunications services provider, selected Enablence's TRIDENT7TM Universal Access Platform for Aruba's first FTTH project.

The Phase 1 of the deployment will connect residential subscribers in the Gold Coast real estate development. Gold Coast residents will receive complete triple-play voice, data, and RF video services, including advanced video services such as Video-on-Demand supported by Enablence's patented single fiber RF return solution. "This is another great and strategic win for Enablence as we expand our business internationally" stated Arvind Chhatbar, Enablence's CEO. "The fact that Setar chose the Enablence TRIDENT7TM Universal Access Platform to break ground on FTTH in Aruba is a real plus for us, and we are very pleased to see our GPON solution gaining global momentum including in North America." continued Mr. Chhatbar.

After successful deployment to the Gold Coast real estate development, Setar plans to continue rolling out the Enablence TRIDENT7TM FTTH solution in new real estate projects across Aruba. "Because this is the first ever FTTH deployment in Aruba, this is a very exciting time for Setar's customers," stated Raul Ponson, Sector Manager of Technical Affairs for Setar. "This is simply a huge leap forward, in terms of the breadth and depth of services we can immediately provide our customers, and the GPON standard leaves us plenty of room to continue raising the bar for subscribers throughout Aruba going forward."

"The flexibility of the TRIDENT7TM platform was a key factor in our decision," continued Ponson. "The fact that we can maintain all of our existing operational systems and enable seamless service provisioning allows us to migrate to PON with ease." The Enablence TRIDENT7TM Element Management Suite (T7 EMS) includes an open northbound interface that enables integration of third party operational and billing (OSS/BSS) systems.

The Enablence TRIDENT7TM Universal Access Platform is the only FTTH platform on the market capable of supporting all three key optical access standards from a common OLT platform.
