CINCINNATI & DUBAI--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--At the GSM 3G Middle East Conference in Dubai, UAE this week, [ Convergys Corporation ] (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in [ relationship management ], will share its insights and solutions on helping telecom service providers adapt to the prevailing retail model influencing customer expectations and behaviors on service and purchasing. Conference attendees can visit Convergys at stand 12 in the Sheikh Maktoum Hall of the Dubai International Convention Centre over the two-day conference and attend a Convergys presentation on December 16.

Speaking on "Telco to Retail: Addressing the Challenges of a Highly Competitive Market," Convergys' Denis Bernaert will discuss the need for telcos to become world-class retailers and the implications this will have for their subscriber management, order orchestration, rating and billing, and product lifestyle management systems. Bernaert is a vice president of client management for Convergys in the European, Middle Eastern, and African markets.

According to Bernaert, telcos will need to address a number of billing and support system [ (BSS) ] challenges as they adapt to the retail business model to enable them to more efficiently and quickly manage customer interactions, charge for any product or service, and manage a complex product portfolio.

To further make the point and show telcos what can be done to make the transition smoothly and effectively, Convergys is also exhibiting at the conference, showcasing a range of solutions including its Customer Service Management (CSM 5.0) solution, its Enterprise Product Management solution, and the latest version of Convergys' core Infinys rating and billing system. The company also is demonstrating its leading online convergent charging solution to integrate prepaid and postpaid subscribers on a single database. All these solutions, together with Convergys subject matter experts and regional senior management, will be at stand 12 in Sheikh Maktoum Hall of the Dubai International Convention Centre from Monday through Tuesday, December 15 – 16.
