Japanese space startup aborts 2nd satellite launch attempt minutes after liftoff

The Japanese space startup, Space One, aborted its second attempt to launch a satellite into orbit when its Kairos rocket, launched from Space Port Kii in Wakayama Prefecture, exploded shortly after liftoff. The incident occurred just five minutes into the flight, leading to a significant setback for the company which aims to be Japan's first private firm to successfully put a satellite into orbit. The rocket was carrying a government test satellite intended for emergency communications. Following the explosion, Space One confirmed the failure and announced plans to investigate the cause, emphasizing their commitment to safety and reliability in future launches. This event marks another challenge in Japan's burgeoning private space sector, which is striving to compete with global leaders like SpaceX.
