Science Ministry Resends Controversial Summary for Appointment of DG PSQCA

  • The delay in appointing a regular head for the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) has once again been raised in the National

The Ministry of Science and Technology in Pakistan has resubmitted a controversial summary to the Prime Minister's Office for the appointment of the Director General (DG) of the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA). This move comes after the initial summary was returned by the PMO due to concerns over the selection process. The summary proposes Dr. Muhammad Mohsin as the new DG, despite objections from various quarters regarding the transparency and merit of his selection. Critics argue that the process bypassed seniority and merit, with allegations of favoritism and political influence. The ministry, however, insists that the appointment adheres to legal and procedural norms, and they are pushing for an early approval to fill the long-vacant position.
