  • President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. on Friday led the inauguration of the first mobile soil laboratory (MSL) in the country, aimed at providing farmers with knowledge and technology for scientific methods of farming.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. unveiled the Philippines' first mobile soil laboratory on June 13, 2023, aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity by providing farmers with immediate soil analysis. This initiative, part of the broader "Masagana Rice Industry Development Program," allows for on-the-spot testing of soil nutrients, pH levels, and other critical factors directly in the fields. The mobile lab, equipped with advanced technology, will travel across the country to assist farmers in optimizing crop yields through precise fertilizer application and soil management practices. This move is expected to reduce costs for farmers, increase efficiency, and promote sustainable farming practices by tailoring agricultural inputs to the specific needs of the soil.
