European Parliament confirms culture and technology commissioners

The European Parliament has confirmed the appointments of Iliana Ivanova as the Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education, and Youth, and Thierry Breton as the Commissioner for Internal Market, following a series of hearings. Ivanova, previously a Bulgarian MEP, took over the culture portfolio from Mariya Gabriel, who resigned to become Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
