- In addition, the University of Minnesota now delivers Oracle database hosting services to departments and business units across the institution, including its research departments.
- Hosted under a single architecture, Oracle Exadata permits the university to deliver database-wide updates under a consistent set of standards, greatly improving manageability. For instance, the university deployed a new database security role for the performance team to all databases in approximately five minutes -- a process that would have previously taken weeks.
- Oracle Exadata enables the institution's database administrators to support thousands of queries per second -- with up to 90 times faster processing speed1 -- while improving disaster recovery capabilities to ensure maximum database availability for thousands of users.
- University of Minnesota worked with [ Oracle Consulting ] to implement Oracle Exadata in approximately three weeks -- on time and on budget -- in May 2011. The environment went production live with the university's PeopleSoft applications in March 2012.
