ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The inaugural Hispanic Achievement & Business Leadership Awards (HABLA) program in Orlando is now accepting award nominations for local Latino business and civic leaders who have made meaningful contributions to the community. HABLA will recognize the contributions and successes of winners in the following categories, as nominated by the community at large:
- Corporate executive
- Civic-government
- Entrepreneur
- Unsung hero
HABLA nominations are being accepted at [ www.HABLAawards.com ] and must be received prior to 11:59 p.m. Sunday, September 16th 2012. The HABLA luncheon, presented by Verizon and produced by Lanza Group, LLC, will take place October 3 in the Citrus Club.
Additionally, Verizon will award a $5,000 HABLA scholarship to a deserving high school senior entering college in the fall of 2013 or currently attending college as a freshman. The scholarship is presented to support educational achievement and community involvement. Scholarship nominations are currently available at [ www.HABLAawards.com ] and also must be received by September 16.
