CAMARILLO, Calif.--([ ])--Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq: SMTC), a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, today announced that members of its Snowbush IP group will be presenting a paper at the 38th European Solid-State Circuits Conference (ESSCIRC) in Bordeaux, France. The paper is titled, A Low Jitter 2.7mW/Gbps 180Gb/s 12-Lane Transmitter in a 40nm CMOS Technology and will be presented in the Wireline Transceivers session on Wednesday, September 19, beginning at 11:00 am.

Demanding performance requirements in high speed SerDes to support cloud computing, networking and data center applications require better design approaches. Stringent requirements on the Transmit (Tx) driver return loss and jitter necessitate architectural changes to conventional Tx drivers. The paper, as presented at ESSCIRC, introduces a high-speed transmitter using an SST Transmit driver with very low supply sensitivity and low jitter operating at 15Gbps. New techniques are introduced to minimize transmit jitter and improve termination calibration accuracy, while delivering a wide programmable range of transmit amplitude, equalization, and slew rate.

The Tx driver has seen production use in Semtech products as is part of commercial IP that is sold by the Semtech Snowbush IP group.
