QuickLogic Joins TI's Sitara™ ARM® Processor Ecosystem With Camera-Ready CSSP

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 23, 2012) - QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: [ QUIK ])

  • Eliminates the need to use scarce USB resources for camera interface
  • Reduces system power consumption by 150mW
  • Supports visual Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) requirements in the rapidly growing mobile enterprise / industrial markets

QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: [ QUIK ]), the innovator of ultra-low-power programmable Customer Specific Standard Products (CSSPs), today announced the availability of a turnkey Camera Interface (CAM I/F) solution for the Sitara™ AM335x ARM® Cortex™-A8 processor from Texas Instruments (TI). By eliminating the need to dedicate an often-scarce USB port, and lowering total system power consumption, QuickLogic's CAM I/F solution expands the application base that TI can address in the mobile enterprise and industrial markets. These applications include the rapidly emerging need to support Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC).

"It's a top priority for us to offer production-ready AM335x solutions across the full breadth of potential applications that customers can quickly and easily adopt," said Adrian Valenzuela, marketing director, Sitara ARM processors, TI. "With QuickLogic's CAM I/F solution and supporting reference design, we are able to provide our customers a turnkey design for an ultra-low-power camera interface they can adopt with little or no ongoing engineering support."

"CAM I/F marks the launch of our catalog CSSP strategy. With this strategy we're extending our reach into widely diversified markets and optimizing the leverage of our engineering investment," said Brian Faith, VP worldwide sales and marketing for QuickLogic. "We have worked closely with TI to define our new CAM I/F and accompanying reference design. We are very excited to be a valued member of their Sitara ecosystem."
