VIQ Announces Digital Audio Recording Contract in Botswana
MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 26, 2012) - VIQ Solutions Inc. ("VIQ", "VIQ Solutions" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:VQS) announced today that they have been awarded a contract for digital audio capture in Botswana with local reseller Digital Voice Processing ("DVP").
Under the contract, VIQ will provide digital audio capture and management software to the Botswana High Court in Gaborone, Botswana. The High Court, which hears a mix of criminal and civil cases, was previously using a non-verbatim manual system of note- taking to record case information. VIQ's software-based solution allows the High Court to maintain a complete verbatim record that is automatically stored on a central server where it can be easily accessed across the system.
The next phase of the project will include implementing VIQ's ICM Tool for integration with the court's impending case management system.
DVP, VIQ's authorized value-added reseller in sub-Saharan Africa since 2001, will provide local implementation, integration and support services for the project. DVP has previously installed VIQ software in the Botswana Industrial Courts in Gaborone and Botswana High Court in Lobatse, as well as over 350 courts and legislatures across Africa including the Free State Provincial Legislature in South Africa and the Delta State High Courts in Nigeria.
"The contract in Botswana is more traction for VIQ in the important emerging African market," said David Outhwaite, President and CEO of VIQ Solutions. "Through local partners like DVP, we have established ourselves as a leading provider of sophisticated digital audio and video recording and management solutions in Africa."
