The Company had previously completed an exclusive distributor agreement with Alpha-Omega Services Inc. in 2007 for sales of the series of the new AOS Model Containers

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- International Isotopes Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: [ INIS ]) announces Alpha-Omega Services Inc. (AOS) has obtained approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for their series of AOS model containers.  INIS entered into an agreement with AOS, of Bellflower, California, to be their exclusive worldwide distributor for a new family of Type B (U) radioactive material transportation containers.  Since that time, AOS and INIS have awaited NRC approval to begin container sales.  AOS received NRC approval last week.

The NRC Certificate of Compliance issued for the AOS model containers includes three sizes and five different models, which address a wide range of useful applications.  These containers are the newest Type B (U) package designed in the United States and meeting all of the most current International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regulations for the safe transport of radioactive material.  A unique capability of these containers is they are approved for the transport of both "Special Form" and "Normal Form" materials.  The AOS model containers are suitable to replace many models of radioactive material containers, used by the United States government and commercial interests that lost their approval for use in October 2008.

Steve T. Laflin, INIS President and CEO stated, "We greatly admire the tenacity and determination demonstrated by AOS in seeing these containers through a lengthy and expensive approval process. The AOS model containers will be offered in a range of sizes and capacities that will permit them to meet a wide range of applications, including transportation of radioisotopes and activated materials.  The capability to transport 'Normal Form' is a significant advantage to the diversity of applications for which these containers are suited.  In addition, the elegance of their design makes them simple to use and easy to maintain.  INIS will immediately begin taking orders for sales, or long-term leases, with the first container deliveries expected by September 2012. Interested parties can learn more about our containers on our web site at [ www.intisoid.com ]."

Troy Hedger, AOS President and CEO stated, "This entire process, starting back in 2007, has been a unique and lengthy undertaking.  All our patience and unparalleled determination has finally paid off, and we are excited about the opportunity to partner with INIS, to bring our innovative radioactive material transportation containers to market.  We are confident that, with INIS as our exclusive worldwide distributor, our hand in the increasingly important radioactive material transportation market will be strengthened.  We look forward, with anticipation, to a successful long-term partnership with INIS."
