FREMONT, Calif., Dec. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SGI (NASDAQ: [ SGI ]), the trusted leader in technical computing, today announced that it has filed a Request for Withdrawal with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") requesting the immediate withdrawal of the Company's Registration Statement on Form S-3, which was filed on November 8, 2011 (File No. 333-177817) and had not yet been declared effective by the SEC.  The Company has not offered or sold any of the securities that were to be registered in the registration statement.
