Poynt Corporation CEO Andrew Osis to Present at BIA/Kelsey Interactive Local Media Conference

Leader in Mobile Local Search to discuss Mobile Local Content and Advertising

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Dec. 14, 2011) - Poynt Corporation (TSX VENTURE:PYN) ("Poynt Corp." or the "Company"), a global leader in mobile local search and advertising, today announced that its CEO, Andrew Osis, will be a featured speaker at the Interactive Local Media Conference (ILM-W) produced by the BIA/Kelsey Group.

Mr. Osis has been invited to share his insights during the "Social / Local / Mobile SuperForum" panel series. In particular he will be addressing the topic of "Mobile Local Content and Ads: What's Working" which takes place today at 10:45 am - 11:30 am in San Francisco at the Hyatt Regency.

Poynt recently announced that it has seen a 50% increase in user activations for its mobile local search and advertising platform, Poynt ("Poynt" or the "Platform"), and attributes this to on-device offerings with OEM's (Original Electronic Manufacturer's) such as Samsung Android devices in the United States. Additionally, preload agreements in Canada and the United Kingdom along with the timesPoynt launch in India, continues to drive new users resulting in an increase in revenues. With close to 12 million users globally, Poynt also recently reported that advertising fill rates continue to increase month-over-month with proportionately more revenue being generated through premium advertising.

Poynt's expertise in mobile local search and advertising comes from understanding that today's mobile consumer is dynamic and requires a reliable, user-friendly experience that addresses the what, the where, and the when of consumer behavior--delivering information that is contextually relevant to what the consumer is searching for. It is because of Poynt's exponential growth, strong global footprint, top tier content partners and ability to connect the user with a local solution to their purchase intent that Mr. Osis is seen as a thought leader.

"Poynt's success is the result of listening to the consumer and creating a best-of-breed experience, whereby our users remain loyal," said Andrew Osis, CEO of Poynt Corp. "Ensuring that experience is delivered globally comes from finding the right content and distribution partners. I am excited to share this experience with my esteemed colleagues at the ILM-W conference today."

About the Poynt Platform

Poynt is a convenient and timesaving GPS-enabled mobile local search and advertising platform that connects consumers to local offers, businesses, events, restaurants, movie theatres, gas prices and weather information at the moment they are looking to buy or acquire products or services. Poynt provides consumers with the ability to move beyond discovery of their local area to view movie trailers and reviews, buy movie tickets, click-to-call businesses, get directions, browse listing websites, read reviews and book dining reservations or find and interact with local coupons and offers.

Poynt provides contextual and relevant advertising to users performing local queries and its revenue model is based on user queries, page views, advertising and transactions within the platform. Each user query generates several page views, which are monetized through display advertising and sponsored listings paid for by advertisers. These advertising placements generate revenues on a cost per thousand impressions (CPM) basis or on a cost per click (CPC) basis. Transactions, such as ticket sales and restaurant reservations, also contribute to revenues on a fee for service basis.

Poynt is available as a free download for users in India, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Australia on Android, iPhone, Windows Phone and Nokia devices, BlackBerry smartphones and BlackBerry Playbook tablets from the respective App Stores. Poynt is also available via Over the Air download at m.poynt.com.
