AirTouch Communications CFO Is Interviewed by CEOCFO
Company Targets Global Demand for Telecom Services
NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 3, 2011) - AirTouch Communications, Inc. (
Kaiser provided an overview of AirTouch's plans for future growth and updated recent developments. Kaiser described the company's goal to serve as the wireless (cellular) home gateway provider for the world, especially in emerging markets.
"AirTouch, which designs and markets wireless communication solutions using the cellular network, has developed a cordless phone that amplifies the signal up to 10 times that of a mobile phone," Mr. Kaiser stated. "Our products combine the advantages of a cordless phone with multiple handsets with the benefits of a cellular phone for the home and small business. In addition to voice and text messaging, the AirTouch technology allows for internet access as well."
"The first-generation AirTouch phone is certified for use on most major U.S. carrier networks including Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint. AirTouch is now in the process of certifying its second-generation phones," Mr. Kaiser added.
The Company estimates that the global fixed wireless device market will exceed 250 million units in this year alone. Additionally, the Company believes there are approximately 130 million landlines in the U.S. that could be replaced with an AirTouch device.
In the U.S., Kaiser said the company provides a cost-effective, signal- enhanced alternative to landlines and broadband. Internationally, particularly in the BRIC nations and N-11 countries where there is no telecommunication infrastructure, or where an area is significantly signal-challenged, AirTouch provides telecommunications and the internet using cellular signals.
Kaiser said that the company does not currently provide landline or cellular services, but it offers Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) models to work with major U.S. carriers. In addition, AirTouch is in the process of rolling out cordless cellular phones for homes and small offices that will work in foreign countries.
Recent partnerships by AirTouch include a newly established joint venture (AirTouch China) with Bigtall, a large Chinese consumer electronics distributor, and a deal with LightSquared, the first wholesale-only 4G-LTE wireless network operator with satellite coverage in the U.S. which will enable AirTouch to leverage its hardware technology to become a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). In the financial area, the Company has closed $12 million in PIPE funding.
