CORNING, N.Y.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) today announced that it has appointed Mark A. Beck to senior vice president and general manager of [ Corning Environmental Technologies ]. Beck is replacing Thomas R. Hinman, who is stepping down from the position.

Beck, 45, has been general manager of [ Corning Life Sciences ] since 2006. He joined Corning in 1996 and has worked in several divisions, including [ Corning Display Technologies ].

Beck received his undergraduate degree from Pacific University and his masters of business administration from Harvard Business School. He and his family reside in Elmira, N.Y.

He will continue temporarily to lead the companya™s life sciences business. The company plans to name a new life sciences general manager in the near future.

Hinman joined Corning in 1983 and held a variety of positions across the companya™s environmental technologies organization. He was named senior vice president in 2006 and elected to the general manager role in 2008.
