Tue, June 8, 2010 Riverbed to Showcase Leading IT Performance Solutions at Storage Decisions Chicago
SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - June 8, 2010) - [ Riverbed Technology ] (
Riverbed offers [ WAN optimization solutions ] that speed performance in some cases by up to 100 times, making the WAN feel more like the LAN. More than 7,800 customers, across a wide range of markets, have implemented Riverbed WAN optimization solutions to improve employee productivity, cut costs and enable a more agile IT infrastructure. Many of these companies with large data centers and strategic [ disaster recovery ] (DR) initiatives are leveraging Steelhead® appliances to accelerate DR processes, in some cases up to 55 times faster, and to reduce WAN bandwidth requirements by up to 95%.
Riverbed will demonstrate at Storage Decisions the role of its WAN optimization solutions in accelerating DR. In February of this year, Riverbed introduced the [ Steelhead 7050 ] model appliance to meet the performance, reliability and flexibility requirements of large enterprises. The Steelhead 7050 model appliance more cost-effectively manages large-scale data center-to-data center replication, accelerates applications across many locations and users in an enterprise, and allows organizations to build large private cloud infrastructures. This model combines new levels of throughput and connection scalability with solid-state drives (SSD) and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) connectivity.
Visitors to the Riverbed booth will also learn how Riverbed continues to forge key partnerships to better support its customers' data center consolidation efforts and strategic DR initiatives.
Riverbed is part of the EMC Select Program and last year received EMC E-Lab™ qualification for EMC MirrorView™/A, EMC Celerra® Replicator, EMC SAN Copy™, EMC SRDF®/A (Symmetrix Remote Data Facility/Asynchronous), DMX and V-Max. This allows joint customers to deploy Riverbed WAN optimization solutions into their largest data centers with confidence. Riverbed also recently announced that its WAN optimization solutions have been verified by [ Brocade Communications Systems Inc. ] as compatible with the Brocade 7500/FR4-18i Blade, according to the testing requirements of the Brocade Data Center Ready Program.
