RCN Selects Metaswitch for IP Voice Solution

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - October 28, 2009) - SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2009 -- Metaswitch Networks today announced that RCN Corporation (NASDAQ: [ RCNI ]), a leading provider of all-digital and high definition video, high-speed internet, and premium voice services to residential and small-medium business customers will upgrade its entire voice network to provide a broad range of IP telephony applications and services with equipment provided by Metaswitch.

A leading provider of carrier systems and communications software solutions, Metaswitch was selected for the legacy switch migration and rollout of IP-based services, which will allow RCN to reduce costs and operational complexity and to provide enhanced products across its customer base.
