These modems provide high-speed Internet access where a user works or relaxes, including an office, home, work site, trade show, airport, hotel, park, beach, or vehicle.
Model 4596 has packaging and instructions focused on use with AT&T mobile broadband service, but can also be easily used with other mobile broadband services. Model 4595 has identical hardware features, but its packaging and instructions are oriented toward use with the many GSM mobile broadband services available worldwide.
US users of both models benefit from AT&T's willingness to accept these modems onto the AT&T wireless network. The customer purchases a plug-in data SIM card from AT&T, and can opt for only a 1-month service commitment or for a longer commitment. The modems work well on AT&T's network and on other GSM mobile broadband services worldwide, and are supported by Zoom's experienced Boston-based customer support team.
The estimated retail price for these modems is $99. They are ideal for customers who don't want to make a long-term service commitment, and for travelers who want the flexibility of a 3G modem designed for use with service providers worldwide.
These modems plug directly into a USB port. Both models include a semi-rigid cable for connection to crowded USB ports and to make it easy to orient the modem for best 3G reception. Both models work with Windows 7, Vista, XP, and 2000; with Macintosh OS X 10.4.9 or higher; and with 3G Routers including Zoom's Travel Router Model 4506 and Desktop Router Model 4501.
Both modems are small, only 3.3 by 1.0 by 0.4 inches counting the USB connector.
