Ikanos Communications: Ikanos Communications' Director of Industry Standards Elected to Broadband Forum Board

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - March 24, 2009) - Ikanos Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ IKAN ]), a leading provider of broadband semiconductor and software products for the digital home, and Broadband Forum today announced the election of Edward Eckert, director of industry standards at Ikanos, to Broadband Forum's Board of Directors. Ikanos is recognized as one of the leaders in xDSL, and the election of Eckert will enable the company to further contribute to the development of industry requirements for technologies that advance broadband services worldwide.

In addition to the board position, Eckert will remain as editor and subject matter expert in the Broadband Forum's Testing and Interoperability Working Group -- the group responsible for the definition and publication of the test plans and performance criteria for DSL and digital home systems. Ikanos also will continue its activities in the Broadband Forum's BroadbandHome™ Working Group, which is tasked to provide the industry with technical specifications that define the devices in the digital home, and ease the deployment and management of broadband services.
