Union Minister Jitendra Singh highlighted India's growing prowess in science and research during the 8th India International Science Festival in Bhopal on January 21, 2023. He emphasized that India now offers a comprehensive ecosystem for scientific endeavors, including state-of-the-art facilities, a robust startup culture, and a conducive policy environment. Singh pointed out the significant increase in the number of startups, from around 300 in 2014 to over 80,000, and the rise in patent filings, underscoring the country's enhanced innovation landscape. He also mentioned the government's initiatives like the National Research Foundation and the Anusandhan National Research Foundation Bill, aimed at fostering research and development. Singh expressed optimism about India's future in global science and technology, attributing it to the synergy between the government, industry, and academia.
