NASA is monitoring a bus-sized asteroid as it makes its closest approach to Earth today, among a group of five space rocks passing the planet this week. The asteroid, known as "2025 DU25," will zip past at a distance of approximately 692,000 miles, according to NASA 's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

NASA is currently monitoring a bus-sized asteroid, designated as 2023 XZ11, which is expected to make a close approach to Earth. This asteroid, with an estimated size of 33 to 105 feet, will pass by at a distance of approximately 250,000 miles, which is slightly more than the distance to the moon. Although this distance is considered close in astronomical terms, there is no risk of it impacting Earth. The asteroid's trajectory and characteristics are being closely observed by NASA's Planetary Defense Coordination Office to ensure planetary safety and to gather data for future asteroid tracking and deflection strategies.
