The Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti) has announced that the development of the National Remote Sensing Satellite (MySAS) will commence operations in 2028. This initiative, aimed at enhancing Malaysia's capabilities in space technology, will involve collaboration with local and international partners. The project is part of a broader strategy to advance the nation's space industry, focusing on applications in agriculture, environmental monitoring, and disaster management. The satellite will provide high-resolution imagery to support various sectors, contributing to national development and security. The project's timeline includes the completion of the satellite's design and construction phases by 2026, followed by testing and integration, with the goal of launching and beginning operational use by 2028.
