The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and KoolLogix have launched an $8 million joint lab aimed at developing advanced cooling solutions for AI data centres. This initiative, named the A*STAR-KoolLogix Joint Lab, focuses on creating energy-efficient cooling technologies to address the high energy consumption and heat generation issues associated with AI and high-performance computing (HPC) systems. The lab will leverage A*STAR's expertise in thermal management and KoolLogix's innovative cooling solutions to design and test new cooling methods, potentially reducing the environmental impact of data centres. The partnership also aims to foster innovation in Singapore's tech sector, enhancing its competitiveness in the global AI market.
