Addressing the 150 guests - which included Posh and Becks - the King opened by speaking in Arabic. He said "Assalamu-Alaykum", which means peace be upon you. Charles described the Amir's visit as a "homecoming", noting the years he spent studying in the UK at Sherborne, harrow and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

King Charles III delivered a speech at a state banquet in Berlin, marking his first overseas state visit as monarch. In his address, he expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and highlighted the deep historical ties between the UK and Germany, emphasizing shared values and mutual respect. He spoke of the importance of collaboration in facing global challenges like climate change and security. King Charles also paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, noting her affection for Germany and her contributions to the relationship between the two nations. Additionally, he touched on cultural exchanges, mentioning the influence of German culture in Britain and vice versa, and looked forward to future cooperation in various fields including trade, science, and culture.
