IISF 2024 kicks off celebrating Science with Swadeshi Spirit and Global Collaboration

Under the aegis of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) inaugurated the 10th edition of India International Science Festival 2024 (IISF 2024) on November 30 at IIT Guwahati in association with Vijnana Bharathi,
The India International Science Festival (IISF) 2024, inaugurated on January 17, 2024, at the THSTI campus in Faridabad, Haryana, is a five-day event celebrating science with a focus on the "Swadeshi" spirit while promoting global collaboration. The festival, themed "Science and Technology Public Outreach in Amrit Kaal," aims to foster scientific temper among the public, particularly the youth, through various activities like science exhibitions, workshops, and lectures. Union Minister Jitendra Singh highlighted the importance of science in daily life and India's growing role in global science, mentioning the increase in research publications and patents. The event also features international participation, with scientists from countries like the US, UK, and Japan, emphasizing the blend of indigenous innovation with international scientific collaboration. Key attractions include a startup conclave, a science film festival, and a special focus on women in STEM, showcasing India's commitment to advancing science education and research.
