At the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras's annual cultural festival, Saarang, a massive replica of the Moon was created to simulate lunar terrain, offering visitors a unique experience. This installation, part of the festival's theme "A Cosmic Sojourn," was designed to educate and inspire attendees about space exploration. The replica, which spans over 1,000 square feet, features detailed lunar landscapes, craters, and even includes interactive elements like a virtual reality setup where visitors can simulate walking on the Moon. The initiative not only highlights the advancements in space technology but also aims to foster interest in science and technology among students and the general public.
