Academy Revamps SciTech Council With Universal's Annie Chang As Chair (EXCLUSIVE)

ILM"s Rob Bredow will serve as co-chair of the council, which has been reorganized with an "agile and strategically focused structure."

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has reorganized its Science and Technology Council, appointing Annie Chang as the new executive director. Chang, who has been with the Academy since 2017, previously served as the director of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ digital media and technology department. The council, which has been instrumental in recognizing technical achievements in film through awards like the Scientific and Technical Awards, is now focusing on enhancing its role in advancing film technology. This includes fostering innovation, supporting research, and providing resources for filmmakers.
