The National Economic Council (NEC) has encouraged state governments to collaborate with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENSI) to drive Nigeria's industrialization. During a recent meeting, NEC highlighted NASENSI's role in fostering innovation, particularly through its development of locally manufactured products like electric vehicles, solar systems, and agricultural equipment. The council emphasized the importance of states leveraging these innovations to boost local economies, create jobs, and reduce dependency on imports. NEC also discussed the need for policy frameworks that support technology transfer, capacity building, and the integration of these innovations into state development plans. This initiative aligns with broader national goals of economic diversification and sustainable development.
