ANNAPOLIS, Md., Aug. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: [ TSYS ]), a world leader in highly reliable and secure [ mobile communication technology ], today announced its Torrance, CA facility has received the prestigious AS9100C quality certificate from the National Quality Association. As part of TCS' Government Solutions Group, the Space & Component Technology Division manufactures rugged solid-state drives, performs parts management for spacecraft and launch vehicles and is a full-service provider of integrated launch tracking, telemetry and command solutions.

Tier-1 aerospace companies, who are prime customers for the products and services provided by the Torrance facility, demand that their supply chains pay close attention to customer/regulatory compliance, product traceability, configuration management and other key criteria regarding the quality and safety assurances involved in supplying highly reliable aerospace products and services – all elements reviewed in TCS' AS9100C certification.
