STERLING, VA--(Marketwire - Mar 6, 2012) - Sutron Corporation (
Bookings for the month of February alone were $3,641,909. Strong domestic sales of $1,130,250 to 47 US public and private sector entities contributed to February's surge. Additionally, significant international sales of $2,511,659 were bolstered by a $1,855,000 contract awarded to Sutron for dam safety monitoring of a huge rock-fill dam in Yunnan Province, China, the Nuozhadu Hydropower Station. Sutron will provide monitoring of over 4,000 dam safety sensors installed in the Dam during its construction as well as equipment testing, development of safety monitoring information management and comprehensive analysis system software and observation during the contract period, automated equipment maintenance, and compilation of monitoring data in the Safety Monitoring Automation Program of Nuozhadu Hydropower Station Key Project.
The Nuozhadu Hydropower Station tops many technical world indices for records including dam height, spillway and underground powerhouse. The height of the gravel-clay-core dam is No.1 in Asia and No.3 in the world. The underground powerhouse is one of the largest in China. Moreover, the open spillway has the largest scale in Asia, and has the largest flood discharge power and flow velocity in the world.
