TeleCommunication Systems Hires Dr. Keith Bhatia as Vice President of Business Development

ANNAPOLIS, MD--(Marketwire - Jan 6, 2012) - TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: [ TSYS ]), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, today announced the hiring of Dr. Keith Bhatia as vice president of business development for its Commercial Software Group. In this role, he will drive channel management and new business growth activities centered on the company's wireless data, location and application technologies, as well as its next-generation commercial offerings.

Dr. Bhatia brings more than 20 years of communications technology business development and leadership experience to TCS, with a strong background in both domestic and international operations. Previously with Neustar, Movius Interactive, ADC and IP Unity, he has led development of new products based upon IP multimedia subsystems in the next-generation media server and applications space, and managed a global partner team and provided oversight for expansions into Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree in Telecommunications Technological Forecasting and Substitution.
