HOUSTON--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--TTI Exploration, Inc. today announced that it has appointed Chris M. Friedemann as Chief Marketing Officer with immediate effect. Friedemann joined TTI from ION Geophysical Corporation (NYSE: IO) where he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing. At ION, Friedemann led the 2007 corporate re-branding of the predecessor company a" Input/Output, the acclaimed product launch of the companya™s cableless FireFly® seismic acquisition system, and the roll-out of the INOVA brand identity to reflect the launch of a new joint venture between ION and the seismic contractor BGP.
In his new position, Friedemann will report to TTIa™s President and CEO, Jim Hollis. Commenting on the appointment, Hollis stated, aChris brings a unique skill set and proven track record of marketing accomplishments to TTI. He understands the needs of our customer base and how to market complex geoscience solutions within the natural resource industry. Moreover, he is a recognized brand-builder who will help TTIa™s technology offerings gain greater awareness throughout the global geoscience community. I am delighted to be adding him to our senior leadership team.a
Friedemann, 46, brings more than 25 years of industry experience to this newly created role. In addition to seven years at ION, Friedemann spent eight years at the management consultancy McKinsey & Company in their Houston office, reaching the level of Partner where he advised upstream oil & gas clients. Earlier in his career, Friedemann was a senior reservoir engineer with Exxon and Managing Director of the EAME Region for VerticalNet, a business-to-business exchange developer and enterprise software provider.
Friedemann added, aI am excited to be joining TTI just as the company is beginning to hit an inflection point of rapid growth. TTI has developed a technology platform to acquire and simultaneously interpret multiple geological, geophysical, and geochemical datasets that is unique in the natural resources industry. Customers that have applied TTIa™s multi-measurement interpretation methodology are able to make faster, more informed decisions about where to explore, where to lease, and where to drill. As hydrocarbons and minerals become more challenging to locate and more costly to produce, I believe TTIa™s exploration solutions will find themselves in high demand among E&P operators and mining companies.a
Friedemann holds a B.S. (with Distinction) in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Stanforda™s Graduate School of Business. He is also an advisor for Stanforda™s Petroleum Investment Committee.
