His previous employment was with such Fortune 500 companies as Merrill Lynch, Shell, Halliburton, and Dresser Industries. While at Dresser, Mark received the highest award given to research scientists, the Dresser Golden Creativity Award. Mark developed software for well log analysis, called Ezdip. It was used by clients the world over, and was subsequently acquired by Paradigm Geophysical.
In addition to his valuable experience, Mark has authored multiple papers and two software patents; one while at Dresser and another while at Halliburton. Mark has authored a book, "Image Processing in Well Log Analysis," co-authored "Professional Java E-Commerce" and is currently working on "Hadoop in Practice" for Manning Publications. "Hadoop in Practice" will teach the programmers the scalable cloud technologies that are currently used by Google, Yahoo, and Facebook.
