Soltoro Trenching Program at El Rayo Returns 7.5 Metres of 5.3 gpt Gold & 44 Metres of 65 gpt Silver
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 2, 2009) - Soltoro Ltd. (TSX: VENTURE:SOL) is conducting ongoing trenching programs to expand surface mineralization at the El Rayo Silver Gold Lead Project in Jalisco State, Mexico. At El Rayo, over 5 km's of mineralized strike length has been defined within the El Rayo and Las Bolas V shaped structures. A 5,300 metre reverse circulation drill program is currently underway to test these structures and the Highway Zone, an offset structure at the juncture of the V, which has never been drill tested. Trenching to date was carried out on portions of the Las Bolas, the El Rayo and the Highway Zone structures.
Andrew Thomson, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated: "Trenching programs continue to define significant gold and silver mineralization along the structures currently being drill tested. Drill testing of the gold flexure, within the El Rayo structure, is underway where surface trenching returned 7.5 metres of 5.3 gpt gold. Soltoro has also planned to increase the number of drill holes in the yet to be tested Highway Zone where 400 metres of mineralized strike length has been defined."
Select trench results and drill activity in the 3 zones being explored, are summarized below;
- Las Bolas Silver Zone: Two deep holes have been completed to test mineralization up to a 200 metre depth. A further 23 holes are planned in this zone after receipt of results from the first two deep holes have been compiled. Drilling of a kilometre long portion of the Las Bolas structure is focused on defining a NI 43-101 compliant silver resource. Seven new trenches were completed south-west of the Las Bolas mine to establish surface mineralization which will be used in the NI 43-101 resource calculation:
Structure | Trench # | Interval (m) | Ag (gpt) |
Las Bolas | B-T1 | 14.8 | 110 |
including | 12.8 | 130 | |
Las Bolas | B-T2 | 14 | 82 |
Las Bolas | B-T3 | 13 | 46 |
Las Bolas | B-T4 | 10 | 59 |

Las Bolas | B-T7 | 10 | 55 |

- El Rayo Gold Zone: Drilling is underway on a 300 metre long section of a gold flexure at the north-west end of a 1,065 metre long gold zone. Two trenches were completed within the flexure zone where the second trench successfully located the main vein which returned 22.5 metres of 2.2 gpt gold. In addition, a regional program designed to test the El Camino gold bearing structure roughly 900 metres south south-west and trending sub-parallel to the El Rayo structure was also completed and returned the following results:
Structure | Type | Interval (m) | Au (gpt) |
El Rayo Flexture | RF-T2 | 22.5 | 2.2 |
including | 7.5 | 5.4 | |
El Camino | Channel | 1.2 | 0.2 |

- Highway Silver Zone: Trenching was also carried out at the Highway Zone, located at the junction of the V shaped Las Bolas and El Rayo structures. During the program, 13 new trenches were completed over the hill west of the Highway Zone road cut where two historic underground mines were located. Highlights of the program are presented in the table below to include prior sampling carried out along the road cut and additional trenching carried out to extend trench 12:

The mineralized trenches completed to date at the Highway Zone cover a strike of approximately 400 metres. This zone has never seen drilling and four holes are planned to test below the old shafts and trench 12 at depth. Assaying from this program was completed by ALS Chemex through their office in Guadalajara, Mexico. Gold was analyzed using a 30g fire assay with AA finish while the silver is analyzed using a four acid "near total" digestion package.
