LGS To Enable Secured Access To SIPRNET For the U.S. Army Reserve; Task Order Valued at $12 Million

VIENNA, Va.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--LGS, a subsidiary of Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU) dedicated to serving the U.S. government community, announced today it has become a subcontractor to STG, Incorporated on a $47 million contract to provide the United States Army Reserve access to the Department of Defense (DoD) classified information network.

Initially, LGS will work on a $12 million task order to engineer, furnish, install and test the installation of Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) cafes' for 161 U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) Centers across the United Stated and Puerto Rico. SIPRNET is DoD's largest network for the exchange of classified information and messages. It interfaces with the Global Command and Control System, the Defense Messaging System and numerous other classified warfighting and planning applications.

This is the first phase of a potential $47 million contract awarded to STG Inc., a leading government contractor that provides enterprise and IT infrastructure, security, applied engineering, and scientific and professional services. STG presently services more than 50 major customers, including top U.S. government agencies, overseas organizations, and Fortune 100 companies.
