LeCroy Introduces the World?s Fastest Real-Time Oscilloscope
CHESTNUT RIDGE, N.Y.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ LeCroy Corporation ] (NASDAQ: LCRY), a leading supplier of oscilloscopes and serial data test solutions, today announced the launch of the 8 Zi Series of WaveMaster® digital oscilloscopes, Serial Data Analyzers (SDA) and Disk Drive Analyzers (DDA). The 8 Zi Series is a single hardware platform that supports eight models with bandwidths ranging from 4 to 30 GHz – the highest bandwidth available in the industry. The 8 Zi Series is the second product line developed from LeCroy's next-generation "Apollo" chipset.
"LeCroy has raised the bar again for high-bandwidth performance scopes with the launch of the WaveMaster and SDA 8 Zi Series," said LeCroy President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Reslewic. "We are the first-to-market with an oscilloscope that answers the need for a 30 GHz product to test the fastest emerging technologies in the most difficult measurement environments."
In conjunction with the launch of the 8 Zi Series, LeCroy is introducing an upgrade program for bandwidths up to 30 GHz, which provides long-term investment security. Under this program, customers can leverage their investment to stay current with emerging high-speed technologies and serial data standards by purchasing only the bandwidth needed for current designs, and upgrading to additional bandwidth as needs change.
"The 8 Zi Series' architecture enables performance, precision, speed, insight and measurement confidence that design engineers cannot obtain from any other oscilloscope supplier," added Reslewic. "In addition, we believe that our new upgrade program provides another competitive advantage as companies seek to maximize the return on capital investments in the current economic environment. We look forward to introducing additional innovative products based on our next-generation Apollo chipset."
About the WaveMaster 8 Zi Series
The WaveMaster 8 Zi Series provides up to 30 GHz of bandwidth, and sample rates up to 80 GS/s. The WaveMaster 8 Zi Series features many of the same options as the 7 Zi platform, such as TriggerScan™ rare event capture, a removable front panel and an integrated second display, as well as exceptional instrument responsiveness, 10 to 100 times faster analysis processing time, and a large 15.3" high-definition touch screen display. In addition, the WaveMaster 8 Zi Series' proprietary X-Stream II architecture supports capturing, zooming, measuring and analyzing multiple waveforms up to 256 Mpts deep.
The SDA 8 Zi models are ideal for validating high-speed signals or testing high-speed serial data standards. Analysis tools such as IsoBER and superior jitter measurement methodologies provide faster and more accurate understanding of serial data problems, providing better results when debugging emerging, high-speed serial data standards, such as PCIe 3.0 and USB 3.0.
As rise times become faster, engineers face signal integrity measurement challenges. LeCroy's Eye Doctor™ II Signal Integrity Tools, which are available for all 8 Zi Series products, provide the ability to add precision to signal integrity measurements by allowing subtraction of cable and fixture effects from high-speed signals while at the same time maintaining fast scope update speed on unlimited record lengths.
